A Too Powerful Word publishes the best new poetry, prose, reviews, interviews and art by international writers, translators and artists, both emerging and established, whose commonality is literary quality and an urgency of voice and artistic conviction. Our editorial standard is to read with an open, discerning mind, and to publish carefully and vigorously. This genuine community of readers, writers, artists, translators and publishers is what distinguishes us and defines how we connect our writers to readers and to each other.

Danijela Trajković (1980) is a poet, short story writer, translator and reviewer. She holds an MA in English language and literature from the Faculty of Philosophy in Kosovska Mitrovica, Serbia. Her work has been translated into Russian, Spanish, Romanian, Arabic, English, Bulgarian, Czech, Slovakian, Bengali,Turkish, Macedonian, Uzbek, Hungarian and published in journals, newspapers and anthologies worldwide, the most recent in ‘World Poetry Almanac’ (2017-2018, edited by Dr Hadaa Sendoo, Mongolia), Balkan Poetry Today (edited by Tom Phillips, UK, 2018), 'Atunis Galaxy Anthology - 2019' (editor in chief: Agron Shele, USA), "Desde Isla Negra al Oriente" (edited by Alfred Asís, Chile, 2019). Danijela’s first book ‘22 Wagons’ (selected and translated Anglophone contemporary poetry) was published by Academy of Arts, Knjaževac, Serbia, 2018. She lives and works in Vranje, Serbia.

Mircea Dan Duta (1967) is a poet, film scientist and translator, editor of the Levure Littéraire cultural platform (France-USA-Germany), Quest literary magazine (Montenegro) and FITRALIT Revue in Bucharest (specialized in literary translation), producer, organizer, moderator of cultural events in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Romania. He writes his own poetic creation in Czech. He published three poetry collections: Landscapes, Flights and Dictations (2014), Tin Quotes, Inferiority Complexes and Human Rights or Married, No Strings Attached, Selling Dead Born Girlfriend (Mention: Worn-out) (2015, both of the titles issued at Petr Štengl Editions, Prague) and the bilingual (Czech-Romanian) authorial anthology Plíz sujčof jor mobajl founs / Pliz Suiciof Ior Mobail Făuns / Please Switch Off Your Mobile Phones. Now preparing two new titles: They Don´t Speak Polish in the Realm of Death and That s How Life Itself Wrote It. His texts are also published in literary magazines and revues in the Czech Republic (Uni, Protimluv, Weles, H_aluze, Dobrá adresa, Polipet, Tvar etc.) and abroad in translations: Slovakia, Italy, France, USA, Mexico, Spain, Romania, Moldavia, Israel, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Serbia, India, Egypt, Korea, Poland, Sweden, Northern Macedonia, Peru, Chile, soon expected in Ukraine, Austria and Slovenia. Present in the anthologies Balkan Poetry Today 2017 and 2018 (UK), The Night Magician, (2018 - UK), Anthology of South-Eastern Poetry by Fahredin Shehu (2018, USA), (California Poetry Quarteryly - Anthology, (USA, 2018), World Poetry Almanach by Hadaa Sendoo (Mongolia, 2018 and 2019), Balkan Writers (Bulgaria, 2019), Poetry Against the Virus (Spain, 2020 - to be published), Anthology of Contemporary World Poetry (South Africa, 2020 - to be published). He translated almost 100 authors (whole volumes or fragments / samples for literary magazines) from Czech and Slovak into Romanian (especially poetic works and theater plays, but also novels and short stories). He is also translating from English, French, Polish and Slovene into Romanian and from Romanian, English, Slovak and Polish into Czech. He also put together and translated the first two anthologies of contemporary Czech poetry in Romanian (2015, respectively 2016) and the first anthology of contemporary Czech theater (2016) after the fall of communism. He also publishes scientific and specialized volumes and articles in the field of film and literary theory, critic and history from which we would always mention the book Storyteller, Author and God (Edition Charles University, Faculty of Arts, 2009), which is dedicated to some narrative aspects of the Czech and Slovak film New Wave in the 60s of the 20th century. He is a member of the Czech section of the PEN Club and also of the Romanian one. From 2015 to 2016 he coproduced and co-moderated the Reading Poetry literary evenings and the series of readings and literary programs Poetry in the Front Room. He also cooperates with the Poetry festivals FIP Bucharest, FIP Jassy and Transylvania in Cluj. He is also the moderator of the PEN Romania Literary Evenings that started in April 2018.

Nenad Trajković (1982) is a Serbian poet, essayist, literary critic and translator. He graduated from Faculty of Law, University of Kragujevac, Serbia. He has published four collections of poetry ‘Traces’ (2008), ‘I Take You to the Museum’ (2011), ‘Wind From The Tongue’ (2016, for which he got ‘The Rade Tomic Prize’) and „The Thinner Line of Endless“ (2019). His work have been published widely in literary magazines, and newspapers in Serbia and abroad. Translated into English, German, French, Polish, Macedonian, Slovakian, Russian, Bulgarian, Spanish, Greek, Hungarian and Romanian. He has translated and edited three collections of poetry from Macedonian into Serbian. He received many awards. He lives and works in Vranje, Southern Serbia.

Marlon Fick (1960) is a novelist, poet, translator, short story writer. Education: BA, University of Kansas; MA, New York University; Ph.D. (1992), University of Kansas
Awards: Fellow for the National Endowment for the Arts in Poetry; the ConaCulta (Mexico); Ramon Llul Award for Literature (Catalonia); Best American Literary Translator (Latitudes Foundation) for The River is Wide: 20 Mexican Poets (UNM Press, 2005).
Publications: A few books of poetry, short fiction, novel, and translations. Among them are his latest novel, The Nowhere Man (Jaded Ibis Press, 2015), and an edition/translation of Catalan poets, XEIXA: 14 Catalan Poets (forthcoming Tupelo Press, 2018).
He works as an Associate Professor and Chair of Literature and Languages at the University of Texas, Permian Basin.

Mihajlo Sviderski (1991) is a novelist, poet, translator and publisher.
For his novel, White and Red (2014) he receives the "Novite" award, which is awarded for the best prose debut manuscript. In 2016, the novel White and Red was published in Bulgarian. In 2019, was published his novel The Last Days of Hans. He is the author of three poetry books Harvest of the Soul (2008), Through the Dream of Fog and Rains (2013), published also in Bulgarian, and Sleeping Stars (2017) . Sviderski has participated in several poetry festivals and readings, and his poetry has been published in many domestic and foreign literary magazines, anthologies and collections of poetry. His poetry has been translated into English, Russian, Greek, Serbian, Bulgarian, Albanian and Hungarian. He is the founder of Vostok Publishing House, where actively translates poetry and prose from English, Bulgarian and Serbian.

Koushik Goswami (1991) is currently pursuing PhD at the Department of Comparative Literature, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Earlier he completed his M.Phil in English from the University of Burdwan. He received JU-RUSA doctoral fellowship and was a Humanities Visiting Scholar, Exeter University, United Kingdom. He was invited by the College of Humanities, Exeter University, and University of East Anglia, England, to deliver talks on his PhD topic and for academic discussion. Some of his recently published articles are: “Cool Texts, Cold Wars: Singapore and Tibet in Historical Fiction of Small States” (The Calcutta Journal of Global Affairs), “The Politics of Fencing and Exchanges of Enclaves: A Study of the Indo-Bangladesh Border”(Border, Globalization and Identity, Cambridge Scholars Publishing), “Violence as Spectacle: Manjula Padmanabhan’s Treatment of Ethical Responsibility in Lights Out” (Apperception, Visva-Bharati) and “Nation and Diaspora in Manjushree Thapa’s Select Stories” (Borders and Border Crossing: Reading Partition, Reading Diaspora, University of Burdwan Press). He has presented research papers at international and national level seminars. His areas of interest are South Asian Literature, Diaspora Studies, Cultural Studies and Postcolonial Literature.

Milutin Obradović (1979) is an artist and poet. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, Montenegro. He has been rewarded for his work and participated in many exhibitions. He lives and works in Bijelo Polje.

Harris Christodoulidis was born in Vyronia of Serres inMacedonia, Hellas. During his high – school studies he held his first two exhibitions in Serres. Since 1969 he lives and works inThessaloniki. He has participated in various group exhibitions at Greece and abroad. The topics of the painter Harris Christodoulidis include: still life, flowers, landscapes, traditional houses, old–traditional architecture, seas, coasts, olive – trees, etc. However, his sensitivity and his respect to the traditional folk buildings, iron gates, damaged and painted again and again wooden doors, alleys andgenerally the elements of a culture, that is getting lost little by littleand becomes a memory, is extraordinary. His paintings weredisplayed in several exhibitions abroad: Austia, Germany, Bulgaria, South Africa, USA, Italy and, of course, in many places all over Greece.
